Minnesota High School Fencing

Welcome Back to the 2008-2009 Season!

WELCOME BACK TO MINNESOTA HIGH SCHOOL FENCING!

I have spoken with at least two schools that are in the process of starting new fencing teams!  It is very exciting to have our sport growing locally.

This year the High School League is working more closely with the United States Fencing Association and the Minnesota Division to bring more high quality competitions to high school age fencers.  Instead of only participating in Team Meets against other school and club teams, high school age fencers also have the opportunity to participate in individual competitions with other high school fencers.  This means more fencing for all fencers!  There are age restrictions in place for these USFA events.  The age restrictions for the High School League (non-USFA) events are still in place also.  The difference between the two is only a USFA membership available at www.usfencing.org or join at any of the USFA events.  The membership is good from August to July the following year.

The High School League Sanctioned USFA events are:

12/7/08        Junior  Olympic Qualifiers
1/4/09           Ares Meet - Junior/Cadet Event @ St. Paul Academy
2/1                Athena Meet - Junior/Cadet  Event @ St. Paul Academy

The High School League competitions (non-USFA) are:

1/17/09         SPA Invitational - St. Paul Academy
1/24/09         Midwest High School Champs

2/21              Minnesota State High School Championships - hosted by Blake.  Any questions please contact Blake through their website, or talk to the Blake coach.

Watch this website for details of when and where the events will be held!
